Activities & Clubs



Altar Servers – offered for grades 5-8.  Students serve at all masses including school, parish, and other church services.

Basketball – offered for grades 6-8.

Students may participate in other sports programs and extracurricular activities through the public school district with no penalty.

Book Fair – Q of A hosts a book fair in the spring every year.

Carnival – All students enjoy a fun-filled day of games and activities around Halloween time hosted by parent volunteers.

Catholic Schools Week – Students participate in various activities and games celebrating Catholic schools.

Chess Club – offered weekly for grades 5-8.

Christmas Around the World – Students in grades K-2 participate in a festival where they participate in cultural activities including dancing, cooking, music, and arts and crafts.

Christmas Pageant – All students perform in an annual Christmas program that focuses on the birth of Christ.

Field Day – Students in grades K-8 compete in a variety of games grouped by school families.  They also enjoy a lunchtime barbeque.

Field Trips – All classes take a variety of field trips throughout the school year which support the curriculum and allow for experiential, hands-on learning.

Geography Bee – Students in grades 4-8 participate in a school bee with winners advancing to the state competition and potentially the national competition.

Music Club – offered weekly for grades 5-8.

Passion Play – The eighth grade class performs a re-enactment of Christ’s Passion annually on Good Friday in the church.

Safety Patrol – offered for grades 6-8 with a rotating schedule.  Students are commissioned by a local police officer and have a celebration at the end of the school year.

School Families – A bond is formed across the grades by the creation of school families that meet throughout the year.  A school family consists of students from each grade and they participate in a variety of activities together such as reading, eating lunch, attending Mass, having a school family game day and creating a farewell card for the 8th grader in their family.  In addition, families pray the Rosary during the month of October at the start of the school day.

Spelling Bee – Students in grades 4-8 participate in a school bee with winners advancing to the city competition.

Yearbook Club – offered for students in grades 7-8.
